TIFFIN -- The No. 21 Heidelberg University Football team was tripped up under the Hoernemann Stadium lights, 41-26, by Baldwin Wallace on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, contributing to their victory.
The Yellow Jackets dominated the first half. Scoring three touchdowns and two field goals to bring the score to 27-0.
Heidelberg was finally able to get on the board with just under two minutes left in the half. On the drive, the Student Princes were able to stay alive on a fourth down thanks to a passing interference flag on Baldwin Wallace. A five yard complete pass to
Dmitry Peters was the catalyst to
Alex Arledge's touchdown pass to
Brylen Parker in the paydirt.
Gryffin Bradley succeeded in the extra point, and HU trailed 27-7.
BW was the first to put up points after halftime, scoring on a pass play midway through the third.
Later in the quarter, Arledge found Parker on a crossing route. Parker won the race to the pylon from 15 yards out for Heidelberg's second touchdown – bringing the score to 34-14.
Krupp's kickoff returned at BW's two yard-line. Berg defense held the Yellow Jackets from making it past their own 43 yard-line.
Down 34-13 after a missed PAT, Arledge completed a 34-yard touchdown pass to
Tyreese Clerveau. Bradley added the extra point.
Looking to ice the game, BW converted twice on third down and once on fourth down on their ensuing possession, then capped the drive with a 22-yard touchdown pass.
Unwilling to concede, the Tricolor embarked on an efficient drive late in the fourth quarter, ignited by a 34 yard reception by
Dmitry Peters. Heidelberg was able to score off of a tush-push for Arledge from one yard out.
BW recovered the onside kick attempt, and would convert on another third down and fourth down play to secure the victory.

Heidelberg will have a much-needed bye week next week. In two weeks, the Student Princes are on the road again to Terra Haute, Ind., to take on Rose-Hulman. The Oct. 17th afternoon game will kickoff at 1 p.m.
