TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team opened up the home slate in 2026 with a loss to Ohio Northern University on Wednesday. After a slow start, the Polar Bears used a strong second quarter to pull away, winning 82-51.
Brenna Williams led all scorers with 19 points, going 6-for-10 from the floor and 7-for-8 from the line. She added a game-high eight rebounds.
ONU led 21-11 after one, but extended their lead to 29 at halftime.
Battling foul trouble, the Student Princes played tough throughout the second half.
ONU held a 43-30 edge on the glass and a 48-28 advantage in points in the paint.
The Student Princes return to action at home on Saturday, playing host to Marietta College. The women's game, tentatively slated for 3 p.m., will follow the men's game.
