TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg Men's Basketball team dropped a 71-43 decision to Ohio Northern Wednesday night in OAC action at Seiberling Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears opened the game with a strong first half, building a 36-16 advantage at the break.Â
Heidelberg struggled offensively in the opening period, shooting 20.8 percent from the field, while Ohio Northern capitalized on second-chance opportunities and points in the paint.
The Student Princes showed resilience after halftime, outscoring their first-half total by scoring 27 points in the second half.
Riley Gossom led Heidelberg with eight points, while
Brady Bosma added seven.
Jarveil Gainey and
Trey Killens each contributed five points off the bench.

Despite the improved second-half effort, Ohio Northern continued to extend its lead and maintained control for the remainder of the contest. Heidelberg finished the night shooting 27.1 percent from the field and 17.6 percent from three-point range.
Heidelberg moves to 11-8 overall and 5-5 in the conference and will look to bounce back in its next matchup.
