TIFFIN, Ohio – Junior Elli Mayer has been named OAC Swimmer of the Week, marking the first such honor for a 'Berg athlete since the rebirth of Heidelberg University Swim team in 2023. A native of Shelby, Ohio, Mayer earned the honor after winning all four events she entered this week.

She placed first in the 100 backstroke (1:17.13), 50 freestyle (29.45), 100 butterfly (1:15.49), and as part of the medley relay as Heidelberg romped Hiram on Friday.

Mayer and her teammates won every single event against Hiram -- a significant milestone for the growing, but still young, swim program.

Heidelberg will host Wittenberg on Friday in a meet rescheduled from last weekend.
