15 set PRs at OWU Invitational

POWELL, Ohio -- The men finished fourth and women finished sixth for the Heidelberg University Cross Country team at the OWU Invitational at Liberty Park on Friday evening. While the rest of campus was at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Frann's Fieldhouse, 15 Student Princes ran PRs -- including Vanessa Shanaman, who picked up her first PR in four years.

Joe Brewster had a top-10 finish, placing ninth in the field of 207. He ran a 26:20 to place ninth. Freshman Dean Morrison was next, crossing the line in 26:39 in 14th place. Both marks were PRs.

Trenton Hole scored 22nd with a time of 26:56 and Braden Cinato was 37th with a 27:31.  

The fifth scorer for the men's team was Thomas Katsares, who placed 42nd with a 27:43.

On the women's side, Shanaman bested her PR (set in 2021) by a second, clocking a team-best 23:44. She was 17th.

Maddy McCall (24:17), Lauren Hall (24:22) and Caitlin Schwartz (24:26) finished within 10 seconds of each other -- all clocking PRs. McCall was 29th, Hall was 32nd and Schwartz was 34th. 

Emily Pullano ran a 24:51, finishing fifth for HU and 43rd overall.  

The cross country team will return to action on October 18 at Oberlin.
