UNIVERSITY HTS., Ohio -- On the road for the first time in 2024, the Heidelberg University Football team was unable to sustain early success in a 48-10 loss at John Carroll University on Saturday.
Receiving the opening kickoff, Heidelberg marched down the field for the game's opening score.
Alex Arledge found four different receivers during the 16-play, 70-yard touchdown drive that was capped by a 10-yard rush from
Drew Miller.
Ethan Ramsdail connected on the extra point.
Bolstered by a tackle for loss by
Kobee Hooker, the 'Berg defense forced a three-and-out on the ensuing JCU possession.
A 25-yard pass to
Cole Poorman on 3rd-and-7 helped Heidelberg on their next drive. The nine-play possession stalled in the red zone, forcing the Tricolor to tack on three with a 27-yard Ramsdail field goal.
Heidelberg led 10-0, but the Blue Streaks scored 48 unanswered points, picking up their first win of the year.
