McEntyre leads HU at OWU

DELAWARE, Ohio  -- Jake McEntyre continues to be the fastest man in Heidelberg University history. At the Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan University, the speedy sophomore broke his own school record in the 100m dash, clocking a 10.62. His previous best was a 10.67. McEntyre and his teammates took sixth on the women's side and seventh on the men's side. 

The invitational is named in honor of Marv Frye, Heidelberg class of 1951 and a Heidelberg Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, who had an illustrious career coaching at OWU. 

HEIDELBERG'S NOTABLE FINISHERS

Men's Discus
Adam Kauble was fifth with his best throw measuring 40.34m. 

Women's Long Jump
Heidelberg went 1-2 in the long jump, with Lexi Wachtman taking top honors. Wachtman had  5.14m jump on her fourth attempt. Ariana Coleman was right behind with a  leap of 5.00m.  

Women's High Jump
Mackenzie Murray was sixth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.35m on her third attempt. 

Men's Pole Vault
Conor Trotter took eighth, clearing the bar at 3.65m. 

Women's Discus
Cheyanne Bean finished eighth in the disc, picking up a 33.05 throw on her third attempt. 

Women's Shot Put
Amelia Lewin's final throw in the shot catapulted her from eighth to fourth. She registered a 11.36m toss -- two inches shy of third place. Morgan Sweat's best throw, her first, was an 11.05m attempt that landed her in eighth place. 

Women's Pole Vault
Kenzie Murray was sixth in the vault, clearing 2.90m on her second try.  

Men's Triple Jump
Marcus Dixon was fifth in the triple jump, measuring 12.24m in his fourth attempt. 

Men's Mile
Connor Ladd finished third in the one mile run, running a 4:24.43.

Women's 100 Hurdles
Liv Bean was sixth in the 100 hurdles, running a 16.23. Wachtman was eighth with a 16.63.

Women's 400
Kylie Cope ran a 1:01.46, placing fifth in the 400.  

Men's 400
Vova Herdman placed sixth in the 400, clocking a 50.99.  

Men's 100
McEntyre's record-setting performance in the 100 was good for third. Officially a 10.62, it was parsed out to 10.619, .005 out of second place. Korbyn Haley ran a 10.89, taking fifth.  
Men's 800
Nathan Jimenez was third in the 800, running a 1:59.55. Hudson Black was sixth with a 2:00.96.  

Men's 200
McEntyre was .05 out of first, clocking a 21.58 as the runner up in the 200.  

Women's 5000
Kenzie Smith ran a 21:03.99 in the grueling 5000, placing seventh. Maddy McCall was ninth with a 21:13.22.
