ADA, Ohio – The Heidelberg University Men's and Women's Track & Field teams took a two-day trip over to Ohio Northern for the Mike Becraft Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Liv Bean set a career record in the triple jump with a leap of 10.94m, good for first place. In January, she set the indoor record at 10.74m. The current outdoor record is a mark of 11.27m set by Marian Bevinton in 2013. She also took sixth in the 400m hurdles, 1:13.41. 

Rick Cimino (4:13.76) and Hudson Black (4:14.24) took third and fourth place in the 1500m run – Black's time was a career best. 

Current school record holder, Mackenzie Murray, took third place in the Pole Vault with a jump of 2.85m. Dual sport athlete, Camille Lafferty, finished in sixth with 2.70m, marking a personal best.

On the men's side, Conor Trotter, also a dual sport swim athlete, had a sixth-place finish with 3.95m. The mark set a personal best and was his fifth time competing in the event this season. 

Reese Recker, took sixth place in the javelin throw, heaving 31.86m. Her winning throw at the 2023 OAC outdoor meet was 34.88m. 

Nathan Jimenez finished seventh in the 5000m with a time fo 15:58.25. 

Caitlyn Mauger took eighth place in the 800m dash with a time of  2:36.24. 

Freshman Amelia Lewin managed a ninth-place finish and a new career best in the hammer throw with 37.56m. 

Both teams will return to the track next weekend at the Ashland Alumni Open, a two-day event on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27.
