NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Heidelberg University Track & Field teams competed at the OAC Indoor Championships. In Bill Cooper's first season as head coach, both teams have seen improvements thus far.

Jake McEntyre and the 4x200 and 4x400 squads found success on day two of the OAC Championships. Mackenzie Murray broke her pole vault school record, set just three weeks ago. Both groups took third place finishes, which was good for All-OAC.

The men's team finished in eighth place, scoring 34 points. The women tallied ten points.

Murray, who jumped 3.07m, bested her own school record mark for indoor competition. The Senior also holds the outdoor record of 3.15m, which she set in 2022. Her performance was good for ninth place overall.

McEntyre, who ran a leg in each of the relays, found himself a first-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 6.90. Yesterday in prelims, he ran a 6.88 which tied for gold. At last year's Indoor Championships, he took a second-place All-OAC finish in the 55m dash.

The 4x200 comprised of Tyreese Clerveau, Carson Lehre, Haley and Jake McEntyre came up less than a second short of a school record with their time of 1:30.94. The record, previously set in 2008, is 1:30.04.

Similarly, on the 4x400 side, Tyreese Clerveau, Vova Herdman, Tyreke Clerveau and Jake McEntyre ran a 3:25.33, which was an All-OAC third-place finish.

Also scoring for The Berg was Nathan Jimenez in the 1 Mile, Lexi Wachtman in the 60m Hurdles, Vova Herdman in the 800m and Jake McEntyre in the 200m.

The Track & Field teams will return to action next weekend on March 1-2 for the Ohio Northern Last Chance.
