WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Football team ground out a 30-20 victory at Wilmington College, HU's 15th straight win over the Quakers. The Student Princes scored 14 points in the final 2:10 of the second quarter, turning a seven-point deficit into a seven-point lead at halftime.

Wilmington scored first early in the second quarter, but Heidelberg answered quickly. Ty Poorman completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to his brother, Cole Poorman, capping an 11-play, 58-yard drive. Ethan Ramsdail nailed the extra point.

The Quakers, playing on Senior Day, regained momentum with a pick-six with 4:30 left in the second quarter. Still buzzing, the Wilmington defense forced a 'Berg punt on the ensuing possession. A fair catch was muffed, and Heidelberg pounced on the miscue.

Two plays later, Drew Miller dove into the end zone for the game-tying score.

Inside of the two-minute warning, the Heidelberg defense forced a punt, which took a 'Berg bounce and was downed near midfield. Two plays later, Poorman sailed a 50-yard touchdown pass into the waiting arms of Ithan Cholewa. Ramsdail's PAT gave HU a 21-14 lead.

In the third quarter, both offenses struggled to find a rhythm and were scoreless.

All three completed 'Berg drives in the fourth ended in Ramsdail field goals. The reigning OAC Player of the Week connected on kicks from 27, 22 and 26 yards out.

Wilmington added a touchdown late, but Heidelberg was able to run out the clock.
