NEW CONCORD -- The Heidelberg Women's Soccer team cruised to a 5-0 win over Muskingum on Saturday, with five different players recording goals for the Berg.
Syd Hewer kicked off the first half scoring in the 16th minute on a penalty kick that sailed right over the head of the keeper to put The Berg up 1-0.
Heidelberg took five more shots before
Viv Blevins buried a shot in the top left corner of the goal, set up by a great pass from
Brianna Braatz in the 43rd minute, making it 2-0.
After the half, it took just 70 seconds for the Berg to pick up where they left off, as Ella Marshall delivered a header in the top right corner just past the goalkeeper's hand to make it 3-0 in the 47th minute.
Not missing out on the fun, The Berg's fourth goal came off the foot of
Brianna Braatz, sidestepping one defender, splitting two and firing a low shot past the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute.Â
The 87th minute saw Olivia Wallace earn the final Berg goal from the corner, skirting the ball off the hands of the keeper to make it 5-0.Â
The Berg improved to 10-3-3, 3-2-2 in OAC play, while Muskingum fell to 3-11-1, 0-6-1 in OAC play.
It was a shot parade, with Heidelberg out-shooting the Muskies 19-7, picking up 11 shots on goal to two.
Brigid Enright recorded two saves on the day, while
Syd Hewer recorded five shots, one assist and one goal.Â
Heidelberg hits the road on Wednesday, Oct. 30 for an OAC contest with Baldwin Wallace. That match is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
