RICHMOND, Indiana -- The midseason slump for the Heidelberg University Volleyball team continued as the Student Princes dropped their final tune-up before the start of conference action. HU lost to Earlham in five sets -- 25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12.
Heidelberg, two weeks removed from a 10-match winning streak, dropped to 11-7 overall.
Anamya Truex had 14 kills on 21 swings, finishing with a .571 hitting percentage.
Riley Tople had 12 kills and hit .421.
Grace Porter also reached double figures with 10 kills.
Bridgette Burrus dished out 27 assists and
Gabby Cumbo added 18.

Nicole Thomas had a team-high 23 digs, with
Grace Dohanyos adding 10.
Truex had three solo blocks and three block assists as HU out-blocked Earlham, 10-5.
The Student Princes were undone by 15 Quaker aces, notching just six of their own.
After holding on in the fourth set to force the decisive fifth, Heidelberg held a 12-9 lead. The hosts ripped off the next six points to stun The Berg. The soul-crushing 6-0 run featured three aces.
Heidelberg hosts Muskingum and Case Western Reserve in a trimatch on Saturday in Seiberling Gymnasium. The Berg and the Muskies start at noon in the OAC Game of the Week.
