NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team fell on the road on Saturday, losing to Muskingum, 17-2. In a game delayed by weather and Muskingum's senior day ceremony, Heidelberg took an early lead, but slipped to 3-6 on the season.
Heidelberg took a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into the game.
Benjamin Evans took a pass from
Jacob Brickman and put it in the top corner from the left side.
The Muskies responded by scoring the half's next six goals. The hosts led 6-1 at halftime.
The 6-0 run to end the first half came as part of a larger 16-2 run for Muskingum, which led 14-1 after three.
Tyler Alexander ended the Muskies streak with a goal in the fourth quarter.
HU goalkeeper
Wilson Runnette had 18 saves.
The Student Princes return home for two games next week. HU hosts Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday evening and Mount Union on Friday afternoon.
