TIFFIN -- On a dreary Homecoming afternoon, the Heidelberg University Women's Soccer team fell to visiting Otterbein, 4-0. Moved to the artificial turf at Hoernemann Stadium because of a steady rain, an unrelenting wind provided miserable conditions for both sides.
Otterbein remained unbeaten in OAC action, 9-2-2 overall, 5-0 in conference.
Heidelberg slipped to 4-6-2, 2-3.
Otterbein held a 1-0 edge at halftime, but scored twice in quick succession in the early stages of the second half. The Cardinals added a fourth goal off a free kick.
HU's best opportunities in the second half when
Alayna Hahn had her shot blocked on two separate occasions.
Brigid Enright had 10 saves in the loss.
Heidelberg visits Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
