Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WESTERVILLE -- The Heidelberg University softball team lost a pair of close conference contests on a crisp Saturday afternoon, falling 5-4 and 5-2 at Otterbein.  The Cardinals rallied for a pair of runs to walk off victorious in the opener.

Heidelberg dropped to 10-8 overall, 1-3 in the OAC.

GAME ONE:  OTTERBEIN 5-7-2    BERG 4-1-2

Otterbein got out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.  They tacked on another in the third.

Heidelberg didn't record a hit until a Kat Brady single to start the sixth inning.  Gabbie Stallbaum walked and Meghan Bame was hit by a pitch, loading the bases with no outs.  With one out, a throwing error allowed two runs to score.  Kalli Sowers wore a pitch, reloading the bases.  From there, Ryann Ramacciatti and Murissa Drown would draw walks that forced in two more runs.

The Cardinals, down 4-3, threatened in the sixth but came up empty.  Heidelberg was not as fortunate in the seventh as the Cardinals tied the game on a double then walked it off with a sacrifice fly.

GAME TWO:  OTTERBEIN 5-5-53    BERG 2-4-2

The Cardinals struck for a run in the bottom of the first inning.  They added on two more with a homer in the fourth.

Heidelberg's first run came in the fifth.  Sowers was hit by another pitch and advanced when Ramacciatti reached on an error.  Hanna Blasinsky pushed the runners over with a bunt before Brady singled in Sowers.

Otterbein added two runs in the sixth, taking a 5-1 lead.

The Student Princes had the tying run on base in the seventh, but could not pull off a miracle.  With the bases loaded, Bame drew a walk to force in Ramacciatti. A fly out ended the game.
