TIFFIN -- Despite shooting a season-best 46.2% from the floor, the Heidelberg University women's basketball was unable to keep pace with No. 9 John Carroll on Tuesday. The Student Princes fell, 105-71.
Hallie Rogers returned to the line up and scored a career-high 17 points -- including four 3-pointers. Rogers was one of three in double figures for The Berg, joining
Lily Sweeney (13 points) and
Bailey Walter (11 points).
The 71-point effort was the best of the season for the youthful Student Princes.
The Blue Streaks, led by a 22-point effort from Nicole Heffington, led wire-to-wire.
Heidelberg outscored JCU in the fourth, 27-21.
Walter added a team-high seven rebounds.
Morgan Altenburger hustled her way to eight points and six boards.
The Heidelberg/John Carroll matchup was moved ahead one day in an effort to avoid Winter Storm Landon.
The Student Princes return to the court on Saturday as part of a festive doubleheader with Muskingum. The women's and men's team will host alumni games in the morning prior to the twinbill with the Muskies. Tipoff of the women's varsity game is set for 2 p.m.
