TIFFIN – The Heidelberg University Men's soccer team lost 5-0 to conference foe Mount Union on a chilly Saturday afternoon.
The Student Princes fall to 0-11-1 (0-3 OAC) while the Purple Raiders improve to 6-2-4 (1-1-1 OAC).
Mount Union got to work early, scoring the first goal 11 minutes into gameplay. With no hesitation, they proceeded to tack on two more before the half.
In the second half, they found two more goals to wrap up scoring for the day. Mount Union's Jamon McCort tallied three of the five goals himself.
Heidelberg had three shots on goal for the day, with
Josh Daum attempting two and
Simon Joseph contributing one.
In goal for The Berg was
Sigurd Ilestad, who had eight saves.
Thomas Abraham saw action at the end of the game and had two saves, one of which was on a penalty kick.
The Heidelberg men's soccer team will travel to Ada on Wednesday to take on the 7-2-3 Ohio Northern Polar Bears. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
