TIFFIN, Ohio -- Back in Hoernemann Stadium for the first time this season, the Heidelberg University men's soccer team was defeated by Marietta College 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Student Princes slipped to 0-3 while Marietta improved to 2-0.
Hussein Faraj led HU with two shots on the afternoon.
Marietta scored in the fourth minute from Robert Philips. The Pioneers took a corner kick from the right side. In the scramble for the ball Philips found himself open at the top of the Heidelberg penalty area and took a high shot over the Heidelberg defensive players for a goal.
The Pioneers added two more goals in the first half. The final goal was scored in the 66th minute from Jovonni Auddino for Marietta.
Ben Patrizi made four saves in the loss.
On Thursday, Heidelberg will host Baldwin Wallace University in Hoernemann Stadium for a 4 p.m. contest.
