TIFFIN -- On the road for the first time, the Heidelberg University women's lacrosse team fell to John Carroll. JCU raced out to an early lead and never looked back, winning 19-1.
The Berg slipped to 0-2 on the year while the Blue Streaks improved to 2-0.
Heidelberg's lone goal was scored by grad student
Dana Dudley. The goal, her second of the season, came on a free position attempt in the second half.
In the loss, senior goalkeeper
Mandi Phillips made a number of difficult saves. She finished with 11 on the night.
Reigning OAC Player of the Week Colleen Grombala led the hosts with four goals.
Dudley, the only player remaining from the inaugural team, has played in 46 games for the Tricolor. She scored at least one goal in 42 of the contests.
Heidelberg hits the road again on Saturday, traveling to the University of Mount Union (1-0) for a 1 p.m. match with the Purple Raiders.
