BEXLEY, Ohio -- Days after conceding a late goal in a 1-0 loss, the Heidelberg University women's soccer team gave up an early goal in a 1-0 loss -- this time at Capital University.  The Comets scored the game's only goal in the 12th minute, handing HU its second loss in a row.  

HU slipped to 7-3 overall, 0-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.  The Comets improved their record to 3-6-1, 2-0.  

Played in from the left side, the ball bounced around the penalty area onto the foot of Grace Estes.  Estes deposited the ball into the back of the net, just inside the right post. 

From there, Capital would continue to levy shots at the Heidelberg net -- 24 for the match. .  Goalkeeper Meredith Bruce stood on her head, picking up nine saves on the night.

Heidelberg, which didn't register a shot in the first half, had numerous chances in the final 45 minutes -- including a corner kick with less than a minute left.  The Comets played stout defense, thwarting HU's effort to equalize.  

The Student Princes registered four shots, one on goal.  

HU hosts Marietta College on Saturday.  Kickoff at Hidden Valley is slated for 1 p.m.
