TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg Men's Golf team, after finishing fifth at the OAC Championships last spring, look to build off the progress from last season. Returning three of their top-five OAC finishers, the 2026-27 season looks bright for Coach Abrams and his squad.

THE COACH:
Entering his seventh year as Head Coach, Chris Abrams leads the charge for the Student Princes. Abrams guided the team to a fifth place finish at the Conference Championships last fall, and coached nine golfers to Academic All-OAC honors.

THE GOLFERS:
Graduate student Nate Kelly returns for his third season with the Student Princes. Kelly shot an average of 81.33 during the 2025-26 season, and a season low of 78 at the Polar Bear Invitational.

James Johnston, entering his senior season, looks to lead the team. Johnston shot an average of 78.63 last season throughout his 24 rounds, and recorded a season low of 71.

Also returning for the Berg is sophomore Cael Dowdell. After competing in 17 rounds as a sophomore and averaging 80.82 on the season, he hopes to build off these numbers this fall.

The Student Princes look forward to returning sophomore Matthew Peter, who shot an average of 78.52 his freshman season, and a best of 71 at the OAC Preview.

The roster consists of four freshmen, five sophomores, three juniors, three seniors, and one graduate student.

THE SCHEDULE:
The Student Princes kick-off the season on Sunday, Sept. 6th at the ONU Kickoff Classic, hosted at the Colonial Golf Course. The OAC Fall Preview will take place Oct. 3rd-4th at the River Greens Golf Club.
