TIFFIN -- After a year of transition under new Head Coach Michael Wright, the Heidelberg University Men's Soccer team enters the 2026 season with momentum. After the 2025 season concluded with two wins and five one-goal losses, the Student Princes enter 2026 eager to capitalize on their opportunities.

THE COACHES:
Head Coach Michael Wright returns for his second season with Heidelberg. Also returning alongside Wright are Assistant Coach Sean Tinney and Volunteer Assistant Coach Davey Briggs. Hall of Fame coach Dr. Brian Haley rejoins the staff after six years, with a focus on mental health performance.

THE CAPTAINS:
The 2026 Captains for The Berg are Kaiden Reed, Cody Springer, and Hassen Faraj. 

Reed, a senior midfielder from Milbury, Ohio, started all 18 matches as a junior. He tallied one goal, two assists, and recorded 1,535 minutes. 

Springer, a senior defender from Brookeville, Ohio, appeared in 16 games as a junior. He recorded 964 minutes.

Faraj, a senior forward from Dearborn, Michigan, appeared in 16 games as a junior. He tallied 554 minutes on the field. 

The team roster consists of 35 men -- 12 freshmen, 13 sophomores, six juniors, and four seniors.

THE SCHEDULE:
The Student Princes open the season with a home match at Hoernemann Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. against Hiram. OAC action will begin on Oct. 3rd at 1 p.m. against Wilmington.  

The Student Princes will play seven of their 17 matches at home, all at Hoernemann Stadium.
