TIFFIN, Ohio – The Heidelberg Women's Basketball team fell 80-66 at Ohio Northern on Wednesday night in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
Heidelberg got off to a fast start, opening the game with a 22-13 first-quarter advantage. The Polar Bears answered in the second period, using an 18-point quarter to trim their deficit to four by halftime.
The Student Princes remained competitive after the break, trading leads throughout the third quarter. Ohio Northern pulled away in the final period, outscoring Heidelberg 28-19 in the fourth to seal the win.
Brenna Williams paced Heidelberg with 12 points off the bench, while
Malia Mizeres and
Emma Crow each finished with 11 points.
Tori See added 10 points and four assists. Heidelberg shot 45.8 percent from the floor and connected on 88.9 percent of its free throws.
Despite the strong shooting performance, Ohio Northern took advantage of fast-break chances and interior scoring to extend its lead late.
