Biography
Laurie E. Krizovski, a Heidelberg College senior, was recently named to the second team GTE/College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-Alerica Team.
A biology and mathematics major, carrying a 3.938 grade point average, the Berberton native was selected as the "most promising pre-medical student," at Heidelberg at the end of her junior year.
Krizovski is a four-year letter winner in volleyball and basketball and she was chosen to be a captain of the volleyball squad in 1987. Last year she was selected to the Division III All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio Volleyball Teams.
The 6'1'' middle blocker started in each of the 35 games in which she played this season. She recorded 30 block solos and 59 block assists, ranking her as the premier blocker in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
After being nominated for the recognition by the college sports information directors (SID), Krizovski's name and credentials appeared on a five-state district ballot.
Making the district team by a vote of the district's CoSIDA member school's SIDs, her name was placed on the national ballot.
About 1,400 SIDs from across the nation selected the six-member first, second, and third teams from the 60 names forwarded from the all-district teams.
This was the release for Krizovski's Academic All-America award in 1987
