TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Women's Golf team hosted the Snowball's Chance Invitational, splitting the two-day event into two separate tournaments at the Mohawk Golf & Country Club. Heidelberg won the Sunday event by 19 strokes, with
Lydia Dietz taking medalist honors.
Dietz shot a +6 78 on Sunday, leading the field by five shots.
Brooke Barnes was third overall, shooting an 85. Third for HU was
Danielle Powell's 92, followed by
Lexie Honigford's 94.
Cheyenne Deaton and
Adi Kramer both brought in 96s.
Paige Kearns shot 103 while
Sophie Day and
Cate Reinhart had 104s.
Mia Hall and
Elizabeth Jackson finished with 108s.
As a team, HU shot a 349.
On Monday, Heidelberg sent a group of five to battle the course at Mohawk. Kramer led the charge with a 97. Kearns shot 102 and Reinhart carded a 103. Day shot a 107 and Hall finished with 111.
Weather permitting, Heidelberg will return to action over the wekeend with the two-day Polar Beaver Invitational, co-hosted by Ohio Northern and Bluffton.
