TIFFIN, Ohio – The Heidelberg Men's Basketball team closed out its regular season Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. Prior to tipoff, the Student Princes honored seniors

Riley Gossom for their commitment and impact on the program.
Heidelberg, Muskingum, and Wilmington all finished in a tie for fourth place in the conference. Applying the OAC's tiebreaker policies, The Berg will be the fifth seed in next week's six-team OAC Tournament -- traveling to Muskingum. Wilmington will visit Ohio Northern. Mount Union and Otterbein receive byes into the semifinals on Thursday.
On Saturday, Heidelberg opened up a 12-point lead in the first half. Undeterred, Capital fought back with strong perimeter shooting. By halftime, the visitors led, 37-35.
The teams battled in a back-and-forth second half, but Capital took the lead for good with a layup by Tristyn Ambrose-Pearce at the 11:48 mark.
Riley Gossom led the way with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds, as the performance marked a career high in points for the senior.
Trey Killens and Markell Johnson-Nicols each contributed 15 points, while
Marcos Vazquez added 13 points and five assists in the regular season finale.
The loss snapped HU's 9-game winning streak over Capital, a run that dates back to 2022. CAP was winless in their last seven games in Seiberling Gymnasium.
