ALLIANCE, OHIO – The Heidelberg University Swim teams traveled to Alliance for a dual meet with the Mount Union Purple Raiders. Both teams fell, yet had strong showings against the fierce competition. 

The relay team of Elli Mayer, Addi Fortney, Darby Nelson, and Delaney Buxton kicked off the scoring in the first event with a third place finish in the 200 yd medley (2:09.07). The men also took third at 1:46.46, with the team of Zach MacDonald, Owen Garver, Andrey Pilipchuk, and Cooper Lutz.

Addi Fortney was runner up in the 200 yd freestyle with a time of 2:08.95.

Elli Mayer took third in the 100 yd backstroke at 1:09.59. Cooper Lutz earned third on the men's side, finishing in a time of 57.85.

In the 100 yd breaststroke, Cassy Connare swam a time of 1:20.18 to take third. 

Darby Nelson and Courtney Kaye went 2-3 in the 200 yd butterfly, with marks of 2:31.15 and 2:35.7, respectively. For the men, Andrey Pilipchuk finished third, covering the 200 in 2:16.1.

Lutz earned his second individual top-three finish in the 200 yd backstroke at 2:10.54. Fortney also picked up her second runner-up finish with a mark of 2:49.02. 

Mayer picked up third in the 100 yd butterfly at 1:06.94. 

Nelson, Kaye, and Hannah Robinson swept the 400 yd IM. Nelson earned the women's sole individual win with her debut time of 5:05.47. Kaye followed with a 5:32.07, and Robinson at 5:51.61. The men also swept the event. Pilipchuk took first in a personal best time of 4:51.31. MacDonald trailed at 4:58.88, and Lance Koch at 5:17.06.

The teams ended the meet with wins on both sides in the 400 yd freestyle relay. The team of Fortney, Buxton, Mayer, and Nelson finished in 3:55.82. The men's team of MacDonald, Pilipchuk, Owens, and Lutz swam a time of 3:34.37.

The Student Princes hit the water next on Saturday, Oct. 31 at home in the Tiffin YMCA. The first event is set for 1 p.m.
