BEREA -- The Heidelberg University Men's Basketball team slipped at Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday, falling 91-85. The Yellow Jackets shot a blistering 9-of-13 (69.2%) from beyond the arc in the first half, building up a large enough lead to withstand a 'Berg comeback attempt.
Heidelberg dropped to 13-7 overall, 9-4 in the OAC. BW improved to 9-11, 5-8.
BW led by 20 at halftime, but Heidelberg whittled the deficit to as small as five late in the game.
With 23 points,
Elijah Harden was one of four players in double figures for Heidelberg.
Markell Johnson-Nichols added 19.
Only playing eight men, BW had two players with 20+ points -- including a 29-point night from Ray Ellington.
With five regular season games to play, Heidelberg is tied with Muskingum for third in the OAC -- one game behind 10-3 John Carroll and Mount Union.
Heidelberg travels to Marietta College on Saturday. Originally scheduled for 4 p.m., the game has been moved to a 3 p.m. start.
