WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The Heidelberg Men's Basketball team took a loss against Otterbein Saturday afternoon, 71-60. The Student Princes fell to 5-4 (1-1 OAC).
Brady Bosma led with 15 points, going 4-6 from above the arc.
Markell Johnson-Nichols added 10 points while dishing out seven assists. Johnson-Nichols and
Abba Lawal -- making his 'Berg debut -- each grabbed six rebounds.
Heidelberg got off to a slow start but battled their way through the first half. Finding themselves down 12, a momentum shifting three from Johnson-Nichols sent The Berg to a 9-3 run. Due to the energy shift, HU only trailed the Cardinals, 33-27, at the half.
In the second half, HU came back to within three with 5:26 to play after
Brady Bosma's fourth 3-pointer of the game. Despite the surge, Otterbein held its lead and secured the win.
Otterbein shot 47.5% from the floor and totaled 35 rebounds, converting their efforts into 11 second chance points.
Heidelberg returns home on Saturday, Dec. 20 against Muskingum with a tipoff set for 1 p.m.
