GAMBIER, Ohio – The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team dropped a hard-fought contest against Kenyon College on Tuesday, 79-71. The Student Princes were unable to fully climb out of an early hole, falling to 0-2 on the year.
Freshman
Tori See had a team-high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Junior
Mya Jones had 15 points and freshman
Malia Mizeres added 14.
Mizeres also orchestrated the offense with a team-high five assists, while See anchored the defense with two blocks. The duo both had eight rebounds.
The Owls led, 24-7, after the first quarter, but Heidelberg began to chip away. Trailing by as many as 18, HU got to within five early in the fourth quarter.
Heidelberg is back on the court Wednesday, Nov. 19 for their home opener against Wooster. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
