Volleyball upended by Polar Bears

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Volleyball team dropped a home match to Ohio Northern, falling 3-0. The Polar Bears claimed the sweep with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.

Kaitlyn Uffman led the team with 10 kills with a .375 hitting percentage, Olivia Miller led with 19 assists, and Grace Dohanyos led HU with 20 digs.

Despite keeping each set close, the Student Princes couldn't overcome ONU's steady play. Even when Heidelberg appeared to have the momentum, the youthful Polar Bears responded. HU led in the third set, 11-4, but ONU would tie it up at 15 -- going on their own 11-4 run. Tied at 19, the Polar Bears closed the match with a 5-1 run.

The Berg dipped to 13-12, 2-2. ONU improved to 7-14, 1-3.

Heidelberg heads to Mount Union on Saturday for a 7 p.m. game in Alliance.
