TIFFIN -- Wrapping up non-conference action, the Heidelberg University Men's Soccer team gave a strong 90-minute effort, but fell to visiting Alma College, 1-0.
Prior to the game, Heidelberg honored four seniors --
Lucas Stein,
Zane Paul,
Korey Slovick, and
Braelin Houston.
The Scots scored the game's lone goal in the 31st minute, blistering a shot past a helpless
Ryan Miller.
Heidelberg's best opportunity came in the second half when a low cross with pace was sent through the box. Sprinting and sliding,
Zane Paul narrowly missed on his attempt to deflect the ball toward goal.
Miller made two saves in the loss.
Heidelberg travels to Wilmington to start conference play on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
