TIFFIN – The Heidelberg University Men's soccer team hosted Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon. Neither team were able to find the net resulting in the first tie of the season (0-0).
Following the draw, Heidelberg moves to 3-5-1 while the Yeomen moved to 1-3-3.
The first half held scoreless for both teams as aggressive play would result in 14 total fouls between each side. Oberlin out shot Heidelberg in the first half totaling 12, while the home team notched three.
Oberlin had a few chances at a goal in the second half, but some stellar defense from goalie
Bradshaw Uhlmann helped keep the visitors out of the net.
Hussein Faraj was looking to score his third goal in two games but the Yeomen keeper kept HU from capitalizing late.
Heidelberg was able to draw two yellow cards on the visitors, and defensively held them to seven shots in the second half.
Uhlman tallied five saves on the day for Heidelberg.
The men will be back next Saturday as they host their first conference match of the season against Muskingum. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
