Faraj tallies goal on Senior Day

TIFFIN -- On Senior Day, the Heidelberg University Men's Soccer dropped its final home contest of the season.  Unable to hold a 1-0 lead, HU fell to Marietta College, 4-1.

Prior to the game, Heidelberg honored Thomas Abraham, Hussein Faraj, Tyler Amstutz, Trent Green, Timothy Zack, and Noah Sharrit for their contributions to 'Berg Soccer.

Fittingly, Faraj broke a scoreless tie in the 17th minute.  He muscled his way between defenders and blistered a shot past the Marietta goalkeeper. The goal was his fourth of the season.

Marietta's Christian Cora found the equalizer on a well-struck ball from the left wing in the 31st.

Tied at one at the half, Marietta took the lead in the 59th minute before adding tallies in the 64th and 84th.

Alagie Njie led HU with three shots on the day.

In goal, Bradshaw Uhlmann added four saves to his league-leading total of 91.

Heidelberg hits the road for the final two games of the season, visiting Capital on Wednesday and Wilmington on Saturday.
