MARIETTA, OH –  The Heidelberg University men's soccer team traveled to Marietta College for their final road match of the season. The Student Princes were outmatched by the Pioneers resulting in an 8-0 defeat. 

Heidelberg falls to 0-15-1 (0-6 OAC) while Marietta improves to 5-8-3 (3-4-0 OAC).

The first half was controlled from the start by the Pioneers. The home squad was able to find the back of the net four times. Marietta would take a 4-0 lead into the break. 

The Pioneers continued their strong play in the second half adding on four more goals. The Student Prince's did not have an answer for the strong attack resulting in a 8-0 loss. 

Marietta totaled 20 shots on goal compared to the visitors two. 

In goal for the 'berg was Sigurd Ilestad who tallied 12 saves on the evening. 

Heidelberg men's soccer will be at home for their last two games of the season. On Wednesday, they will play host to conference foe Capital with a 4 p.m. start time.
