One shy of his career high,
Dylan Woods erupted for 26 points in a close 64-59 victory for the Heidelberg University men's basketball team. With the win, HU completed the weekend sweep of Ohio Northern, and improved to 5-0 on the season.
Heidelberg moved to 5-0 in OAC play for the first time since the 1949-50 season.

A back and forth start to the game saw the lead change hands four times in the opening four minutes. Trailing by six with 12:35 left in the first, the Student Princes embarked on a 15-4 over the next 5:45, capped off by a Woods fast-break layup. HU led 26-21.
Ohio Northern responded with a 6-0 run to take the lead 27-26 with 1:39 remaining in the half. Heidelberg managed to salvage a 28-27 lead going into halftime off two made free throws from Woods.
The Polar Bears opened the second half with six straight points to take a 33-28 lead.
Heidelberg responded with a commanding 12-0 run to give the Student Princes a 40-33 lead with 15 minutes remaining.
Emmanuel Perdue kicked off the run with two straight buckets and Leitwein capped it with a 3-pointer.
Ohio Northern rallied back and later tied the game at 46 with 11:21 remaining with a three-point play by C.J. Napier.
The game was knotted at 50 for five possessions before Woods converted a 3-point play with 7:41 remaining. The and-one gave HU a lead it would not relinquish.
A free throw by Woods with 1:31 left gave Heidelberg a 60-57 advantage. After two free throws by Napier cut the lead to one with 34 seconds, Perdue sprinted through the ONU press into the forecourt. There, he found
Seth Hohman cutting to the basket behind the defense. Hohman converted the testy layup, putting HU back up by three.
Out of a timeout, ONU looked to find an open look from long range, but Landen Long's pass out to the perimeter was off the mark and rolled out of bounds with 3.6 seconds left. Fouled immediately on the inbound, Woods sank both foul shots.
