SANDUSKY, Ohio -- After a year off because of COVID, the Kalahari Duals returned to the shores of Lake Erie on a rainy Saturday. As hosts, the Heidelberg University wrestling team emerged with a 2-2 record. The Student Princes picked up wins against Mount St. Joseph and Defiance.
In the varsity duals, Heidelberg was led by two-pin afternoons from
Dwight Parker and
Jace Grossman.
HEIDELBERG 34 MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 16
Iosef Nunez picked up a pin at 133 just before the second period ended, which gave HU a 6-3 lead. The Lions tied the dual at 141, but forfeited the next three weights, giving a decided advantage to The Berg.
Adam Medeiros picked up a major at 184 and
Jace Grossman capped the win with a pin at 285.
ADRIAN 44 HEIDELBERG 12
In a match that featured bonus points in nine of the 10 bouts, the Bulldogs took control of the match with three pins and a tech fall in the first four matches.

UW-OSHKOSH 42 HEIDELBERG 9
Dwight Parker had a first-period pin at 149 and Rhamy won a hard-fought bout at 184, picking up HU's only wins against Oshkosh. Heidelberg was unable to stave off bonus points as Oshkosh handled the dual.
HEIDELBERG 45 DEFIANCE 3
