NEW CONCORD -- Obed Aidoo's golden goal in the second overtime period lifted the Heidelberg University men's soccer team to a season-ending 1-0 win over Muskingum on Saturday.  Following a scoreless regulation and first overtime period, Rafael Bellucci Marin was able to dribble free in the box and find Aidoo for the game-winner.

The Student Princes conclude their 2021 campaign at 6-10-2 (2-5-2 OAC) while Muskingum ends the year at 3-14-1 (0-8-1 OAC).

In a match closely-contested throughout, HU held the edge in shots 24-15 while both sides had eight corner kicks.

The second half saw the play get a bit heated as eight yellow-cards were issued from the second half through the end of the match with each side receiving four.

In the 105th minute, Bellucci Marin was able to find some free space on the right side of the box before crossing the ball in front of the goal to Aidoo, who found the back of the net to send the Berg home with a victory.

The assist by Bellucci Marin was his team-leading fourth of the season, while Aidoo's goal was his second.  Simon Joseph had a team-high two shots on goal for the Student Princes in the victory.

Thomas Abraham, making his first start of the season in goal, completed the shutout with five saves to anchor the Heidelberg defense.
