"I'm proud of the way we competed this weekend," said Head Coach

Feeding off of Friday's momentum, the Student Princes raced out to an early 4-0 lead against North Central. The Tricolor won the set without relinquishing the lead. In the second set, Miller's crew trailed 13-10 before rattling off seven straight and 10 of the next 11 points to usurp control of the set. The lead in the final set was built a bit more methodically, with HU peeling of chunks of two or three straight points throughout.
Against Elmhurst, Heidelberg trailed 16-14 in the first set before scoring four straight. Clinging to a one-point leat at 20-19, The Berg scored the next four points and used a Morris kill to clinch the set. HU went up 10-1 in the second set and cruised to a win. With Heidelberg again clinging to a 20-19 lead in the third, it was the Blue Jays' turn to make a late run. The hosts took the next six points to win the set.
Having missed out on a chance to close out the match, HU responded immediately. The Student Princes blasted out to a 10-2 lead and enjoyed a comfortable cushion en route to the win.
The 2011 team won its first seven games and would go on to win the OAC regular season title and advanced to the NCAA Regionals.
The Student Princes return to action next weekend at the Sommer Center Spiketacular, hosted by Bluffton University. HU faces the hosts on Friday at 7 p.m. before squaring off with Geneva and Hanover on Saturday.
