Box Score TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University volleyball team opened up conference play with a 3-1 win over Otterbein University on Wednesday. The Student Princes dropped the first set before storming back to take the next three -- 22-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-23.
Heidelberg improved to 10-6 overall, 1-0 in conference action. Otterbein dropped to 9-6, 0-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
The Student Princes have won 14 straight OAC regular season contests, dating back to the 2014 season.
Senior Sarah Parker led the offense for the Berg with 16 kills. Karlie DiRuzza recorded 33 assists in the match. Rachel Raimondo anchored the defense with 24 digs. Megan Mills chipped in with 13.
In the final set, Otterbein had a hold of the momentum with a 19-16 lead. After a Heidelberg timeout, the Student Princes took five of the next six points to grab a 21-20 lead. Janessa Scott played a key role down the stretch with a couple emphatic kills to help put the match away for the Tricolor.

The Cardinals committed 10 service errors in the match compared to HU's two.
Both teams struggled offensively in the third set. Heidelberg attacked at a .079 clip while Otterbein swung a -.091.
QUOTES FROM THE COACH
Head coach Jason Miller on the match: "We came in a little hesitant that first set ... We made some adjustments for the second set that helped swing the momentum back to our side."
Miller on set four: "The fourth set we got a little tentative ... We were afraid to make mistakes. I'm certainly a lot happier with the result."
