MARIETTA, Ohio -- Led by Janessa Scott's 11 kills, the Heidelberg University volleyball team swept Marietta College Saturday afternoon 3-0. HU is now 18-8 overall, 6-1 in conference play. Marietta falls to 17-13, 2-5 OAC.

Senior Sarah Parker chipped in with eight kills in the match. Karlie DiRuzza tallied 28 assists and Rachel Raimondo recorded 18 digs.

The Tricolor took the opening set 25-17. A kill from Parker and a service ace by Sydney Moore put HU up by five late in the set. Kills from Scott, Mariah Sullivan, and Laura Schrag sealed the first set victory.

Aided by Marietta attack errors, HU led by as many as eight in the second set. Back to back kills by Mikaela Weldy led the Berg to a set two win, 25-18.

With the score knotted at 7 in the final set, Heidelberg scored 12 straight points to take a commanding 19-7 lead. A kill by Alyssa Crusey ended the match and gave the Berg a 25-15 win.

Raimondo and Moore each had two service aces in the match.

The Student Princes return to their home court on Tuesday when they host Capital University. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
