In the 58th minute, the Big Red padded their lead with Kennedy Kommor's fourth goal of the year. Kress made the initial save on Kommor near the top of the box, but the Denison junior scored off the rebound.

Less than a minute later, Heidelberg answered. Jay Sato tiptoed along the endline and sent a cross into the six that Jacob Hetrick finished.

Heidelberg's best chance for an equalizer came with less than 10 minutes left. A cross played in to Joseph Tallarico was played down with his head. Schach got down and snared it with his right hand as he fell to the ground.
