ALLIANCE—The Heidelberg University volleyball team remains perfect in OAC play with a 3-0 win over Mount Union. The Student Princes completed the sweep with the 25-12, 27-25, 25-20 victory.

The win moves Heidelberg to 18-6, 5-0 in the OAC. The Purple Raiders fell to 14-8, 3-2 in the OAC.

Junior Sarah Parker had another big day for the Berg, finishing the day with 19 kills. Morgan Strenk chipped in with 11 kills of her own.

Both teams battled for momentum in the first set, with Heidelberg leading 10-6. The Tricolor went on a run to pull ahead 18-7. The eight-point swing was highlighted by two aces from sophomore Rachel Raimondo. The Berg remained in control for the rest of the set, as a kill by Jamie Kluding sealed the win.

The second set was full of back and forth play between the two teams. The Purple Raiders were up 17-12 before the Berg was able to tie up the game at 17-17. The set finished as back and forth as it started, until a Parker kill tied the score up at 25-25. A pair of attacking errors by Mount Union paved way for Heidelberg's set two win.

The Student Princes found themselves behind late in the third set, trailing the host Purple Raiders 17-10. The Berg gained momentum from kills by Jamie Kluding, Janessa Scott, and Morgan Strenk. The Purple Raiders were only able to score three more points for the rest of the set. Heidelberg finished the sweep on a kill from Parker.

The Student Princes are back in action Tuesday night when they host Ohio Northern. The Polar Bears are the only other undefeated team in the Ohio Athletic Conference (19-4, 5-0). Prior to the match, Heidelberg Volleyball will host their annual cancer awareness fundraiser celebration. The start of the match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
