CINCINNATI – The Heidelberg University volleyball team dropped a pair of close matches on Saturday at the Charlie Wrublewski Tournament.  Both the early match against Mount St. Joseph and Thomas More went five sets, but the Student Princes were unable to come out on top in either.

In the first match against host Mount St. Joseph, the Student Princes got off to a tough start, dropping set one, but then came back and dominated the second set 25-15.  They would have to battle back to force a fifth set where they fell 16-18.

Sarah Parker led the attack with 16 kills while Mariah Sullivan and Janessa Scott each added on 11.  Stephanie Romie led the team with 40 assists while Rachel Raimondo tallied 18 digs to pace the Heidelberg defense.

Against Thomas More, the 'Berg was able to gain control after winning the second and third sets, but were unable to hold on and fell to the Saints.  The line score ended up being 25-11, 21-25, 16-25, 25-23 and 15-11.

Heidelberg will take to the court again next weekend when they travel to Springfield for the Wittenberg Fall Classic on September 12th and 13th.  Their first match of the weekend will take place Friday night when they face host Wittenberg at 8:00 p.m.
