Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – For any team, facing the Nos. 1, 5 and 6 team in the country in a span of 22 hours is a daunting task. For a young team struggling to find its identity, like the Heidelberg University volleyball team, it's nearly impossible.
Heidelberg (2-8) dropped three matches at the Wittenberg Fall Classic this weekend, 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-19) to No. 1 Calvin on Friday, 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-21) to No. 5 Hope and 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-14, 25-20) to No. 6 Washington on Saturday.
Freshman Sarah Parker led the Heidelberg attack. Parker notched 27 kills over the weekend with an attack percentage of .280. Senior Amber Welfle had 21 kills.
Alexa Frank and Stephanie Romie shared the setting duties. Frank had 35 assists and Romie had 34.
Jubilee Haase led the team with 31 digs.
The volleyball team will travel to Cleveland to face Case Western Reserve on Tuesday. After the match with the Spartans, the Student Princes will head back to Springfield for a tri-match with Wooster and Wittenberg next Saturday.
