BLUFFTON, Ohio -- The 2017 Heidelberg Volleyball completed the 2017 Sommer Center Spiketacular at Bluffton University with its second split in as many days. HU bested Adrian College, 3-1, before dropping a five-set thriller to DePauw University.
Following the event, senior libero Rachel Raimondo was named to the All-Invitational Team. Raimondo racked up 108 digs on the weekend, pushing her past the 1,500 career dig plateau.
GAME ONE: Adrian and Heidelberg traded the first two sets, with HU winning 25-18 and AC winning 27-25. The Berg followed up with set wins of 25-21 and 25-19 to close the match.
GAME TWO: After winning the first set 25-21, Heidelberg narrowly dropped the next two to DePauw -- 25-23 and 27-25. HU convincingly forced the decisive fifth set by stomping out a 25-12 win in the fourth. DePauw took the fifth, and the victory, with a 15-9 triumph.
Again, it was Stroski who paced the attack. She had a career high 14 kills in the loss -- finishing the weekend with a team-high 49 kills. Laura Schrag contributed 12 kills and Strenk added 11.
McNabb notched 48 assists, her career high.
Raimondo paved the way with 33 digs, followed again by Moore (16) and Strenk (13). Schrag and Mya Morris each had three solo blocks.
UP NEXT: The Student Princes head to Ohio Wesleyan for a non-conference tussle on Wednesday. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
