NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team competed on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 88-65 at Muskingum.
Heidelberg came out with strong energy, holding Muskingum in check early and trailing 19-12 after the first quarter. The Student Princes continued to battle in the second, but Muskingum used an efficient stretch to take a 43-31 lead into the break.
The Student Princes responded with one of their best quarters of the game, scoring 19 points in the third and cutting into the deficit behind timely shooting and defensive pressure. Muskingum regained momentum late and closed out the contest in the fourth.
Tori See led Heidelberg with a team-high 13 points and game-high 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Abby Tier added 11 points with three 3-pointers, while
Emma Crow and
Malia Mizeres each scored 10 points. Mizeres also finished with a team-high three steals, and
Evie Burke and See both dished out five assists.
The Student Princes are back in action Saturday, Feb. 7, for a doubleheader on Hall of Fame Day against Otterbein in Seiberling Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
