ADA, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Men's Wrestling team took third in the 12-team field at the Ohio Northern Invitational. The roster of 11 podium finishers was highlighted by two individual champions --
Colin Hering at 133 and
Drew Miller at 149.
Hering racked up four wins en route to the top of the podium, earning three major decisions.Â
Miller, last seen winning the OAC rushing title for the Heidelberg Football team, won five straight. Â His romp through the field at 149 included two pins and tech fall. Â
Josh Cornell was second at 133, with his only loss coming by way of an 8-4 decision in the finals to Hering. Cornell was 3-1 with a pin. Â
Travis Richardson advanced to the championship bout at 165 before falling. He was 3-1 on the day with two pins and a tech.Â
Michael Finders made his season debut, taking third at 133. He was 3-1 with two pins and a tech fall. Â
Lee Woods was fourth at 125, going 4-2. He racked up two pins and a tech.
Kam Johnson was fifth at 141, going 3-2. His first collegiate win was a pin.Â
Maddox Cade came in sixth at 141, finishing 2-2. Â
Brayden Burelison,
Austin Dipzinski, and
Khelei Tillman all finished seventh.
Heidelberg returns to action at home, hosting the Berg Holiday Duals in Frann's Fieldhouse next weekend.Â
