ADRIAN, Michigan -- The Heidelberg University Men's Wrestling team opened the 2025-26 campaign with a strong showing at the Adrian Invitational.  Owen Frizzell won at 184, one of three finalists for the Student Princes. Heidelberg had a small army finish on the podium, en route to a third place finish as a team.

"It was a fantastic start to the season," said Head Coach Tony Patrizi. "We had some freshmen step up and wrestle well today, and the upperclassmen took care of business."

Frizzell was absolutely dominant, going 3-0 with three pins.

Colin Hering went 4-1 at 133, with all four wins coming with bonus points. He had a major decision, two pins, and a tech fall.

Manny Aller had four wins at 184, going 4-2. His day included two techs and a pin.

Josh Cornell (133), Brayden Burelison (141), Michael Hatgas (149), and Tristan Craddock (174) all picked up three wins on opening day.

"Three guys in the finals and one champ is a good day," said Patrizi. "We are looking forward to the John Carroll dual and Mustache Mania on Wednesday."

Heidelberg hosts JCU on Wednesday at 6 p.m., the front part of a men's/women's doubleheader.
