TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Wrestling team fell in front of a home crowd on Friday night, losing to Case Western Reserve University, 35-12. The Student Princes picked up wins in three weight classes, but were unable to climb out of an early hole.
Heidelberg slipped to 3-4 in duals on the season.
Case Western Reserve (1-0) picked up two pins and a tech fall early, taking a 21-0 lead in the match through four classes.
Travis Richardson put Heidelberg on the board at 157. After picking up a first period takedown, he started down in the second. After a reversal, he pinned Marty Landes at the edge of the mat in front of the 'Berg bench. HU trailed 21-6 at the intermission.
After the break,
Anthony Grecol carried on the Heidelberg momentum with a win at 165. Grecol used a strong second period to gain control of the bout. Though he was unable to hang on for bonus points, Grecol beat John Conover, 11-6.
Still ahead in the dual 21-9, the Spartans took the next three weights.
Demitrius Hernandez used a takedown and four back points to take a 7-0 lead after the first period. In the second, he continued to work -- earning a pin 33 seconds in. The pin was Hernandez's team-leading eighth of season.

Kalahari Duals in Sandusky. Action on Saturday starts at 9 a.m.
